Yamakano Washi Paper Collection
Yamakano Washi Paper Collection
$32.00
Washi - Japanese paper - is traditionally made from three plants: Kozo (paper mulberry), mitzumata, or gampi. The process by which it is made produces a paper that is softly translucent and deceptively strong. Used for sumi-e, painting, calligraphy, origami, bookbinding, lamp shades and shoji screens.
Our favorite find this year! We love the wonderful illustrations on the folded paper package and the twine that ties it all together. Inside, it contains 400 small sheets of beautiful washi paper; 100 sheets each of ◽️“Kinari” — for fountain pen or water based application. ◽️“First Snow” — suitable for calligraphy. ◽️“Ginkgo Nut” — (untreated linen fiber) suitable for calligraphy. ◽️“Fuji River” — (linen based, thick texture) suitable for letters, sketches, and calligraphy.
Perfect for quick, small notes, poems, or drawings; include one in a letter or dress up a package with your own creations!
